MPI Showcases Innovation at the 34th EICF International Technical Conference & Exhibition

MPI was proud to participate in the 34th EICF International Technical Conference & Exhibition held in Seville, Spain, alongside our EU agent, IMC.

Hosted at the Seville International Convention Center (SICC), the annual conference brought together investment casting professionals, suppliers, foundries, and technology providers from around the world for technical exchange, business development, and networking across the global investment casting community.

This year’s conference theme, “People, Skills & Knowledge: The Future Workforce of Investment Casting,” highlighted the importance of collaboration, workforce development, innovation, and knowledge transfer in shaping the future of the industry. Alongside technical sessions and presentations, the event featured dedicated discussions focused on the evolving needs of the modern investment casting workforce.

One of the unique traditions of the EICF Conference is its commitment to showcasing the culture and character of each host location. Rather than offering a typical conference experience, organizers create memorable events that immerse attendees in the local history and traditions of the region. This year’s gathering in Seville was no exception.

The conference’s annual gala evening began with an elegant outdoor cocktail reception and hors d’oeuvres before attendees were transported to a historic Spanish estate for a breathtaking dressage demonstration. Guests then enjoyed an exceptional dinner accompanied by a passionate flamenco performance, while hospitality staff dressed in authentic 19th-century Spanish attire added to the atmosphere and authenticity of the evening. The event provided a memorable celebration of Spanish culture while fostering the relationships and camaraderie that make the global investment casting community so unique.

MPI had a successful show in partnership with IMC, connecting with customers, partners, and industry professionals throughout the event while showcasing the company’s continued commitment to innovation and advanced foundry solutions.

Attendees showed strong interest in several of MPI’s latest automation and process technologies. Particular attention was paid to the MPI 20-12 Automated Pattern Assembly System (APAS), the sticky wax version of MPI’s highly regarded 20-14 APAS. Designed specifically for lower-volume job-shop foundries, the adaptable system offers single-piece flow capability, flexible low-cost tooling, and customer part set-up in minutes. Its compact profile and reduced footprint provide an economical and efficient automation solution for commercial foundries.

Interest was also high for another MPI innovation — the MPI 5X Crossover Injector. Featuring all the performance capabilities of a standard MPI injector, including Smart Controls, the 5X is the first injector capable of injecting pattern wax, runner wax, soluble wax, and ceramic materials equally well. Utilizing a hot-swappable reservoir system, the machine allows for rapid material changeovers in as little as 15 minutes while enabling off-machine melting, preparation, and conditioning of materials.

The exhibition once again demonstrated the innovation, capabilities, and technological progress driving the global investment casting industry forward, and MPI was proud to be part of the conversation surrounding the future of casting technologies and manufacturing efficiency.
