DorseyPoughkeepsie, NY – For the second consecutive year, MPI partnered with Dutchess BOCES to celebrate Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) by hosting students at its Poughkeepsie facility. The national event held this year on Friday, October 3, 2025, aims to inspire the next generation of manufacturers and shine a spotlight on the exciting opportunities in modern manufacturing.

This year, MPI welcomed students from Dutchess BOCES’ Welding program for a guided tour and hands-on experience inside its state-of-the-art production facility. The visit featured a live demonstration of MPI’s Automated Pattern Assembly System, underscoring the company’s focus on innovation, advanced manufacturing, and automation.

The event also highlighted the “Creators Wanted” initiative, which strives to engage students with real-world career pathways in manufacturing. As a company deeply invested in future workforce development, MPI was proud to showcase its technology and team to the next generation of creators.

“Dutchess BOCES is grateful to our industry partners for sharing their time and expertise with our students and helping them look at the future with innovation in mind,” said Dutchess BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Jodi DeLucia. “Events and trips like this help students see that what they learn in their Career and Technical Institute classes applies to the actual work they will be doing. It is also a starting point for them to develop their networks with industry professionals who may be able to guide them throughout their career.”

In addition to MPI, Dorsey Metrology International also participated, offering students insight into traditional precision-based assembly and machining. Together, these Poughkeepsie-based manufacturers bring over 120 years of combined experience to the region and remain committed to advancing local talent and manufacturing excellence.
