POUGHKEEPISE, NY: MPI, Inc. is proud to announce that Aaron Phipps has been promoted to vice president of Sales and Marketing. Aaron is the son of founder Bruce Phipps and has been with MPI since 2010.

Aaron, who has an engineering degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, has served most recently as manager of the MPI Technology Center. The Tech Center is MPI’s state-of-the-art facility where engineering, innovation, and research and development intersect to create solutions to wax-room problems.

“Aaron has entrenched himself in every aspect of our business,” said Bruce Phipps, president, MPI. “He has literally been in and around the investment casting industry his entire life. His understanding of our customers and how MPI can best meet their needs makes him the ideal person for the position.”

Prior to taking over as the Technology Center manager, Aaron spent time in both MPI’s product engineering and automation enginee ring departments. Additionally, Aaron worked at A.W. Bell in Australia as a product engineer and in China, assisting MPI’s agent and the agent’s technical staff.

“I am extremely excited about the new challenge ahead and look forward to making the most of this amazing opportunity,” said Aaron Phipps.

MPI has experienced explosive growth over the past five years, having doubled in size. In his role as Technology Center manager, Aaron oversaw critical areas of the business including pattern production services, automation demonstrations, process validation, wax testing, and operator/engineer training. MPI’s R&D laboratory is also part of the MPI Technical Center.

“Response to Aaron’s promotion has been extremely positive,” continued Bruce Phipps. “Customers have expressed their happiness to see the next generation of Phipps actively involved in the leadership of the company, helping bring long-term stability and longevity to MPI.”

Aaron currently teaches the wax section of the Certification Course for the Investment Casting Institute. He presented a paper at the 2015 ICI Technical Conference entitled, “Current Problems in the Wax Room and How They Are Best Overcome,” and will be presenting at the European Investment Casting Federation in April. He was also recently featured on the cover of the March edition of INCAST magazine where an MPI white paper he coauthored was showcased.

“The addition of Aaron to the Sales and Marketing team is a significant step forward,” said Chris Boylan, director of Sales & Marketing. “I look forward to working closely with Aaron to achieve our goals for the future.”

Aaron is a talented problem solver and has collaborated with customers and vendors alike to develop solutions to a wide array of wax-room problems. As a result, Aaron has developed strong relationships throughout the investment casting industry. His expertise and involvement in important growth areas for MPI such as automation and process validation have made him an invaluable asset to the company.
