POUGHKEEPSIE, NY –MPI, the worldwide leader in wax-room equipment once again had a significant presence at this year’s ICI Technical Conference and Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois. MPI’s theme for this year’s show, “Your Passport to Profitability” reflects MPI’s global reach as well as their ability to assist investment casting foundries in converting wax-room products into profit.

Traffic at the MPI booth was brisk throughout the conference as people clamored to learn about the latest developments at MPI and to view their latest video demonstrating their most recent accomplishments, including major strides being made in automation. Visitors also received a “passport” which provided updated information regarding MPI’s ever expanding range of products and services. Clearly the hit of this year’s booth was the MPI SA55-50-24 ¼ scale wax injection model. Visitors admired this high quality replica. MPI again wants to thank Mark Sacher, the MPI engineer that created the model.

“The ICI Show provides us with an opportunity every year to share some of the tremendous advancements we have made in solving wax-room problems,” said Bruce Phipps, President, MPI. “We have now sold our made-in-America equipment in over 45 countries and understand the obstacles that our customers face in maximizing profitability. More importantly, we have been able to develop custom solutions to help them solve those problems.”

Aaron Phipps from MPI and Andrew Miller of Tech Cast, LLC presented a paper, “Current Problems in the Wax Room and How to Best Overcome Them.” The well-attended presentation revealed the results of an MPI customer survey that was conducted to determine, by industry served, what problems investment casting foundries were experiencing in their wax rooms. The presentation also shared the results of testing that was performed on Tech Cast, LLC equipment and how to mitigate or resolve common wax room challenges.

While visitors were highly impressed with the innovations MPI has made on its standard wax injection equipment, interest surrounding wax-room automation was extremely high. Because of MPI’s 15+ years of experience in automation and the number of automation cells currently in operation, MPI is able to demonstrate how customers can experience increased casting yields of up to 30%, reduced scrap by 50%, cycle times that are 2 – 5 times faster, and perfect patterns and assemblies 100% of the time.

MPI extends its gratitude to the Investment Casting Institute for putting on a great show and to all the wonderful people that stopped by to learn more about MPI products and services.
